Publishing your book on the Amazon Bookstore.
Marketing advice that will enable you to self-promote your book.
Regular telephone and email contact throughout your book journey.
If your manuscript needs proofreading and/or copy editing, this is priced at £9.99 per 1000 words by our team over at A1 Proofreading UK. They will ensure that your manuscript is typeset and free of any typos, spelling mistakes and grammar errors prior to publishing. This is a separate option and is not included in the service provided by A1 Book Publishing UK.
If you insist that your manuscript has been proofread and edited by a professional and doesn't include any typos, grammar or spelling mistakes and you instruct us to publish your book to avoid the cost of us proofreading your manuscript, we will still publish your manuscript, however, we will not be held accountable for any typos, grammar or spelling mistakes discovered after publishing due to you not taking our advice to have A1 Proofreading UK proofread your manuscript before publishing.
Here at A1 Book Publishing UK we publish books for authors who may not possess the combination of skills to do so for themselves or may simply not have the time to devote to what can be a time consuming editorial process.
Along with our sister company A1 Proofreading UK, we provide all the services to help authors self-publish paperback and eBooks, from proofreading your manuscript, book covers, book design and eBook conversion, marketing tips and advice.
Firstly, we are not affiliated with Amazon or any of its subsidiaries.
We will produce both a Kindle eBook and paperback printed edition of your book. It will be available to more than 300 million readers worldwide through Amazon. If you also require a hardback copy of your book, this will be charged at £395.
We will provide precise and easy to follow marketing instructions that will help you to self-promote your book and hopefully achieve the maximum possible sales. However, we cannot guarantee book sales, that is down to the author to self-promote via the links that we provide and the author's own social media accounts.
The fee includes all elements of publication and involves taking a book from a base position right through to a high quality, professional publication.
All editions (eBook, paperback and hardback) will be available through Amazon’s Bookstores where they currently operate in their specified countries in the world. One of the huge advantages of Amazon publication is that books are published there indefinitely.
We aim to complete publication within approximately four weeks and have a very formulaic and systematic approach to book production.
We will complete all the details on your Amazon sales page including the description of the book and place the book in the most suitable sales genres using the most appropriate search keywords to optimize success.
When the book is published, you will be in full control over your account. Neither we nor Amazon have any claim to the copyright of your work. You own all of the rights at all times.
We offer the experience, book publishing skills and personal service needed for your fiction or non-fiction book. Our Amazon book publishing service is second-to-none, whether it's physical copies or Kindle book upload using Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).
Do you have any specific questions for us? If so, call our FREE UK based number 0800 002 9115 or use our contact form.
Use the button below to upload your manuscript. You'll be taken to our sister site, A1 Proofreading UK, where your manuscript will begin its publishing journey.
You'll receive a confirmation message that we've received your file. An invoice will be emailed to you for the cost of the work requested. Once payment has been received, work on your manuscript will begin almost immediately.
Do I need a KDP account for my manuscript to be published?
Yes. Before we can begin your publishing journey you will need to have an active KDP account. You can either create your own account or we can publish your book through our own account. https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/topic/G200620010
What is the potential market for my book?
There are over ten million Kindle users worldwide with the numbers increasing daily. However, many book readers prefer a paperback copy which we will also produce for you which is included in our fee of £245. But the market for your book goes far beyond that because Kindle provides apps so that your book can be read on virtually any eBook device such as iPads and Android devices.
Will my book be available internationally?
Yes, absolutely. Your book will be available to all the countries of the world where Amazon have a presence, including the UK, Europe, and the USA which has the biggest number of Kindle owners.
Do you publish all manuscripts submitted to you?
Not necessarily. Although we are not here to judge or censor your work we primarily publish manuscripts of fiction and non-fiction.
Your manuscript will be initially assessed using Microsoft's Word spell check on the first three pages and a decision will be made as to whether we will accept your manuscript for publication. If it passes the spell check, it will be accepted. However, the spell check will not necessary highlight deeper issues that would be picked up during a professional proofreading and editing operation.
IF ANY PROSPECTIVE CLIENT INSISTS THAT THEIR MANUSCRIPT HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN PROOFREAD AND EDITED BY A PROFESSIONAL EDITOR AND HAS NO TYPOS, TYPESETTING, GRAMMAR OR SPELLING MISTAKES, THEREFORE ASKING US TO PUBLISH THEIR BOOK AS IT STANDS WITHOUT PAYING FOR OUR PROOFREADING AND EDITING SERVICE, WE WILL NOT BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANY SUCH TYPOS, GRAMMAR, TYPESETTING OR SPELLING MISTAKES ONCE WE HAVE PUBLISHED THEIR BOOK.
We do not accept reference books, instruction manuals or such books that contain multitudes of diagrams, tables or images. Please do not submit your manuscript if it contains any of those listed above.
Does my book need an ISBN?
It is not necessary to buy an ISBN because Amazon will provide an ISBN for the book themselves.
How long does it take to publish my book to Amazon’s Kindle?
Unless there are unforeseen problems we can publish a book in approximately four weeks.
Is there a page length requirement for my book?
Yes. Although an eBook doesn't have a page number requirement, the minimum page number for a physical paperback is 29 pages.
How do you set the price of my book?
Because Kindle is owned by Amazon.com, a US company, the retail price is set initially in US Dollars then automatically converted to the currency of the country in which it is on sale. Thus, in the UK it will appear for sale in British Pounds, in Europe, the Euro and so on. One thing you must remember is that eBooks are priced lower than conventional printed books. There are conventional ‘industry standard’ prices for different types of books to which we tend to adhere. But another advantage of Kindle is that the price of the book can be changed very quickly at any time depending on sales.
How do I get paid for book sales?
Since 27.10.17 Amazon KDP has stopped sending cheques. There is an option to be paid by direct bank transfer. Authors can set their bank details at any time after publication within their 'My Account' section.
How is my book marketed?
We provide a limited promotion of your book on our own website for two weeks which includes a direct link to your Amazon sales page. We are not a marketing or promotions company and are not responsible for promoting your book after that two week period. We rely on our clients to self-promote their own books via the social media sites and other promotion sites that we provide details for. Amazon does have dedicated marketing tools and is very good at publicising and promoting your book to its millions of readers, however, this service is not free and we advise our clients to explore other avenues of promotion.
What happens after my book is published?
Your Amazon Kindle sign-in provides access to your account over which you will have full control. You can check sales as frequently as you want and if you wish to amend certain elements of your book you can, however, after publication, you can only amend the manuscript, the cover and the book price. Nothing else can be amended.
Can you publish a printed copy of my book?
We are aware that many readers still prefer a physical, printed book. In order to cater for this sector of the market, we will also publish a conventional printed edition of the book through Kindle Direct Publishing. This allows you to have printed copies of your book on sale on Amazon without holding any stock at all. They are literally printed on demand. This edition will be available alongside the Kindle edition on Amazon to maximise the book’s chances of success.
